A Remote Connection

Selection of images of online workshops, materials, collage kits, art boxes  sent in post for independent activity or for activation during workshop

During the Covid Pandemic, and since, finding ways to open up remote ways to connect with others has been a necessary and useful tool. I have facilitated numerous creative online workshops, devised and produced digital resources for artists and participants, and developed postal creativity packs, postcard projects and art boxes.

For some people the online space proved preferable or easier than in-person activity and many projects have combined a mix of analogue and digital approaches - sending collage packs in the post with linked online workshops for example.  See image examples above and below  from projects with Project Art Works, Photoworks and Corridor. Please get in touch if you’d like to find out more.

Lock down, Project Art Works

Corridor Art Box

In December 2023 Corridor (where I am lead artist and co-director) were re-commissioned by NHS Health and Justice South East to expand their Corridor Art Box project that began during lockdown 2020 as a direct response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Over 2 years we delivered 3000 art boxes to the most vulnerable people in secure estates who are experiencing acute mental health challenges, loneliness and isolation. User consultation sessions informed content to continue contributing towards supporting mental health and wellbeing. Many of the people received the art boxes have been identified as having additional/complex needs such as autism, ADHD as well as many having mental health challenges.
Each box consists of carefully considered, quality art materials – pens, papers, pastels, pencils, a booklet of suggested activities and a set of images (postcards)
