Chalk Hill Video Art project

Following on from the film I made last year with young people at Chalkhill mental health hospital (Sussex Partnership) I have been invited back to run a weekly video art project.

My aim is to introduce the young people to approaches in moving image/video art and encourage them to create their own meanings and messages using video and sound.

We'll start by looking at the work of early video art artists and make short experiments using simple devices - performative and sometimes technical/ timebased- loops, locked off shots, slow motion, reverse, time-lapse etc. . The early sessions will be playful - exploring different techniques and as the weeks progress the work may start to become more personal or conceptual.
